The Russian shelling in Ukraine continues to cause problems in the energy system. In particular, one of the two power lines of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) was damaged. Currently, the plant is connected to the grid via only one line. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine on 30 November.

Restoration of power supply

Over the past 24 hours, power engineers managed to restore electricity to 342,654 consumers who were left without power due to the hostilities.

Outage schedules

Currently, the electricity transmission system operator temporarily applies hourly outage schedules. The current schedules are available on the official websites of the regional distribution system operators.

The restrictions will not apply to critical infrastructure companies and those that import more than 60% of electricity for their own needs in accordance with a government decree.

Restoring power to ZNPP

Experts are actively working to repair the damaged power line at Zaporizhzhya NPP, which will ensure more stable operation of the plant.

Electricity imports

To stabilise the power grid, electricity imports from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Moldova are planned for the current day. The total supply will amount to 11,747 MWh with a peak capacity of 1165 MW.

The situation in the power grid remains challenging, but power engineers are making every effort to stabilise it.
