German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who arrived in Kyiv on the morning of 2 December, announced a new package of military support for Ukraine worth €650 million. The politician announced this on the social network X.

“Germany will remain the strongest supporter of Ukraine in Europe. During my meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, I will announce additional weapons worth €650 million to be delivered in December,” Scholz wrote.

The Chancellor also stressed that Ukraine can count on Germany’s stable support.

“We say what we do. And we do what we say,” he added.

Scholz’s visit to Kyiv will include a number of important meetings, including talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The topics of discussion are expected to include not only new arms deliveries, but also further military and humanitarian aid, as well as a strategy for supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Germany, which has already provided Ukraine with a significant amount of military equipment, including tanks, artillery and air defence systems, remains one of Ukraine’s leading partners in security and defence.
