Ukrainian airborne assault troops reported the successful detention of 11 Russian soldiers in the Kursk region. The prisoners were former prisoners who had signed contracts with the Russian army. The information was confirmed on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

Progress of the operation

According to the Ukrainian military, the Russian command sent poorly trained and poorly equipped soldiers to the assault. The occupiers were tasked with capturing a settlement controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where Russian civilians are also present.

During the battle, some Russian soldiers were killed, while others fled. Those who survived and tried to hide were detained by a unit of the Galician Brigade.

Testimonies of prisoners of war

In the video, the prisoners admit that they are former prisoners who signed contracts to serve in the 11th Air Assault Brigade of the Russian Army. The soldiers spoke about the chaos and incompetence of the Russian command, which left their soldiers to their fate by fleeing at the beginning of the battle.

The Russian tactic of using prisoners in combat is not new. Such soldiers are often used as ‘cannon fodder’ for risky operations. Their training and equipment remain poor, and their commanders demonstrate a systematic indifference to casualties.

This event once again highlights the inefficiency and moral degradation of the Russian military machine. The Ukrainian military continues to demonstrate professionalism in defending the country from the aggressor.
