The Ukrainian military successfully repelled an attempt by Russian invaders to seize a bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The battle for Novomlynsk

The occupiers attempted to cross the river and gain a foothold near the village of Novomlynsk, having an advantage in manpower. However, Ukrainian defenders, supported by artillery and drone units, successfully destroyed the enemy forces and regained control of the territory.

“In particular, the soldiers of the 8th separate assault battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade Edelweiss conducted a sweep of the area, destroying the occupiers in the Novomlynsk area,” the General Staff said in a statement.

Control over the right bank of the Oskol River

After the clearing, Ukrainian flags are flying over Novomlynsk again, and the right bank of the river is under the reliable control of the Defence Forces. The successful operation demonstrates the coordinated actions of the Ukrainian military and the effectiveness of the use of modern means of warfare.

This is yet another victory for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region, which demonstrates Ukraine’s determination to liberate its territories from the occupiers.
