In November 2024, Ukraine exported 6.2 million tonnes of agricultural products, which is 6.5% less than in October this year. This is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), citing the latest data on foreign trade in agricultural products.

The main reason for the decline in exports, according to UCAB experts, is a slowdown in the export of rapeseed, as a significant portion of this commodity has already been exported earlier. At the same time, export growth is observed only in the grain group, while other categories of goods have declined.

Thus, in November, Ukraine exported 4.1 million tonnes of grain, up 3% compared to October. Corn accounts for the bulk of the grain exports (63%), followed by wheat (33%) and barley (4%).

At the same time, exports of oilseeds declined significantly. In November, only 0.8 million tonnes of oilseeds were exported, down 32% from October. In particular, rapeseed exports declined due to the end of the harvest season, while soybeans accounted for 58% of total oilseed exports.

In addition, in November, Ukraine exported 541.2 thousand tonnes of oils, including sunflower oil (89%), rapeseed oil (2%) and soybean oil (9%), which is 8% less than in the previous month. Exports of oilcake after extraction also decreased by 19% to 383,300 tonnes.

Total exports of other agricultural products decreased by 5% to 398.5 thousand tonnes.

The UCAB notes that oilseeds showed the biggest drop, with exports down by a third, but overall, monthly exports remain at a good level.

As a reminder, starting from 1 December 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine cancelled the licensing of exports of grains, pulses, oilseeds and oil, introducing an automatic system for tracking agricultural exports. This innovation should simplify the process and improve the monitoring of agricultural exports.
