Finland has approved its 26th financial assistance package for Ukraine. The decision was made on 5 December 2024 by the President of the country on the proposal of the government. This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing the Finnish Ministry of Defence.
Details of the assistance package
The cost of replacing the defence equipment in this package is estimated at €25 million. The package includes winter gear for the Ukrainian military, which is extremely important in the context of winter combat operations. The total amount of military assistance provided by Finland to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war has already reached 2.3 billion euros.
Finnish Defence Minister Antti Hakkänen said:
“Finland remains one of Ukraine’s strongest allies and is not going to change this course. We provide support based on Ukraine’s urgent needs and the capabilities of our own defence forces.”
Support without publicity
For operational reasons and to ensure the safety of delivery, details of the composition, route and timetable of the aid are not disclosed. However, preparations are already underway for the next aid package, which is scheduled to be delivered to Ukraine in early 2025.
Finland remains an example for other countries, combining sound planning with effective assistance, which not only strengthens Ukraine but also demonstrates the solidarity of the democratic world in the fight for freedom.
