Russian troops have increased the intensity of attacks on the frontline, focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovske, Kurakhove and Vremivske directions. Over the last day, 5 December, 188 combat engagements were recorded, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported in its morning report.
The Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors remain the hottest spots, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 90 enemy attacks. In the Pokrovsk sector, 40 Russian assaults were stopped near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka and others. In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian defence forces repelled 50 attacks, in particular in the areas of Berestky, Sontsivka, Kurakhove and Yelizavetivka.
Large-scale attacks in other parts of the frontline
- Kharkiv sector: there was one unsuccessful attack in the area of Tykhy.
- Kupiansk sector: the occupants attacked five times, in particular near Nova Kruhliakivka, Lozova and Synkivka.
- Liman sector: 16 attacks were recorded in the areas of Hrekivka, Yampolivka, Zarichne, Serebryany and other areas.
- Kramatorsk sector: the enemy attacked five times near Chasovyi Yar, Stupochky and Predtechyne.
- Toretsk sector: six attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Nilipivka.
- Vremivske direction: 37 attacks near Kostiantynopilske, Sukhi Yaly and Makarivka. Russians were actively using aviation here.
Prydniprovskyi and Orikhivskyi directions
Four attacks on Ukrainian positions were registered in the Prydniprovskyi sector. In the Orikhivsk sector, there was one attack near Novodanylivka, which was successfully repelled.
Retaliatory strikes
Missile troops and artillery of the Defence Forces continue to work effectively. Over the past day, four attacks were made on enemy concentration areas.
