On the night of 8 December, Russian troops launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine, firing 74 attack drones, including Shahed and other types of UAVs. The Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down 28 drones, and another 46 enemy vehicles were lost to electronic warfare.
Air defence performance
Air defence units, including anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile firing groups and electronic warfare forces, practised in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.
“The defence forces worked in a coordinated manner, resulting in the downing of 28 kamikaze drones. Another 46 drones were locally lost due to the use of electronic warfare,” the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force said.
Consequences of the impact
Residential buildings and property were damaged in Kamianske, Dnipro region, as a result of the fall of the wreckage of a downed drone. The victims are currently being provided with the necessary assistance, and rescuers are continuing to eliminate the consequences of the incident.
Another massive shelling of Ukrainian cities is causing outrage among citizens. Residents of the affected regions are actively helping each other, and volunteers are providing the necessary support to affected families.
