On 14 December, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on the current state of the power system and measures to stabilise electricity supply. Over the past day, power companies managed to restore power to 40,156 consumers who were cut off due to Russian attacks.

Outage schedules

The transmission system operator continues to apply hourly outage schedules, which are posted on the official resources of regional distribution operators. The Ministry urges consumers to follow the updates to the schedules throughout the day.

Critical infrastructure enterprises and companies that import more than 60% of their electricity for their own needs are exempt from energy supply restrictions.

Electricity imports

For the current day, electricity imports of 15,898 MWh with a maximum capacity of 1 ,230 MW are forecast. The Ministry of Energy reminded that since 1 December, the maximum capacity of imports from the EU has been 2.1 GW.

The Ministry is calling on businesses to import electricity more actively to maintain the stability of Ukraine’s integrated power system.

ZNPP status

The water level in the cooling pond at Zaporizhzhya NPP is 14.10 metres, which fully meets the plant’s needs.

The Ministry of Energy has asked citizens to use electricity sparingly. This will help reduce the load on the power system, especially during peak consumption hours.
