On Sunday, 15 December, hourly power cuts are planned in Ukraine from 08:00 to 22:00. This was reported by Ukrenergo on Facebook.
Time and sequence of outages:
- 08:00-14:00 – one turn of outages;
- 14:00-17:00 – two rounds of outages;
- 17:00-22:00 – one round of outages.
For business and industrial consumers, power restrictions will be in effect throughout the entire period: from 08:00 to 22:00.
Cause of outages
The restrictions were imposed due to damage to the energy infrastructure caused by Russia’s missile and drone attacks in November and December.
“Repair works are ongoing. Power engineers are working to return the equipment damaged by the enemy to operation as soon as possible,” Ukrenergo said.
The time and scope of restrictions may be adjusted throughout the day. For up-to-date information, consumers are advised to follow the updates on the websites and social media pages of regional power distribution companies.
Compliance with the outage schedules is important for the stabilisation of the country’s power system in times of war.
