The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is working around the clock to restore state registers that were affected by a powerful cyberattack by Russian hackers. First Deputy Minister of Justice Mykola Kucheryavenko said during a telethon that it may take about two weeks to fully restore the registers.

“This was the most powerful cyberattack on our registers by Russians, but no information was lost,” Kucherianenko said.

According to him, simultaneous work is currently underway to restore the platforms necessary to restore the functioning of the registers. “The Ministry of Justice is restoring the registers 24/7. We hope that all relevant platforms will also be restored during this period,” the official said.

This situation has become yet another challenge for the cyber defence of Ukraine’s state infrastructure amid Russia’s ongoing aggression. The Ministry of Justice assured that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the data and its prompt return to working condition.
