24 December 2024 marks the 445th day of the Iron Swords War, launched by Israel on 7 October 2023 against terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, Judea and Samaria, Lebanon and Syria. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) continues large-scale military operations on several fronts. This was reported by Time Ukraine Israel, citing Newsru.co.il.
Current situation
The IDF maintains control over southern Lebanon and the “buffer zone” in Syria. At the same time, it is actively conducting operations in Judea and Samaria. Air strikes and artillery shelling continue in the Gaza Strip.
Chronology of events
00:00-06:00
- Gaza Strip: On the night of 24 December, IDF artillery and air force attacked a number of targets in the areas of Jabaliya, Zaytuna and Khuzaa. Bombings continued near Kamal Aduan hospital. A humanitarian aid vehicle was attacked in Dir al-Balas, killing five people.
- Judea and Samaria: A large-scale anti-terrorist operation has begun in Tul Karem. Heavy equipment was used and suspects were detained. Armed clashes and three wounded were reported in Balat (Shechem).
07:00-12:00
- Central Gaza Strip: The IDF struck the Ministry of Education building and a target in the Ad Daraj area. There are reports of deaths and injuries.
- Tul Karem: IDF forces eliminated a terrorist and seized a large arsenal of weapons. Another militant was neutralised in Shechem.
13:00-18:00
- North Gaza: Artillery shelling of Al-Nada Towers in Bait Hanoun.
- Judea and Samaria: Fighting continues in Tul Karem and Nurash Shams. Explosions and shootings were reported.
- North of Jerusalem: Border Police operate in Kafr Aqab and Isawi districts, several suspects detained.
18:00-00:00
- The centre of Israel: In the evening, the “Tzevah inferno” alarm sirens sounded. A rocket fired from Yemen was intercepted. More than 20 people suffered from panic and needed medical attention.
- Gaza Strip: Strikes continued in the area of Bait Lahiya and Al-Bureiju. Targets in the Kamal Aduan area were attacked repeatedly.
General result
Israel continues consistent operations to neutralise terrorist threats. The conflict zones cover territories from the northern border to the Gaza Strip. Fighting continues on several fronts, with an emphasis on precision strikes and anti-terrorist measures.
