From the beginning of 2024 to November, the Deposit Guarantee Fund (DGF) paid almost UAH 2.1 billion to satisfy the claims of creditors of banks in liquidation. This was reported by the DGF.

Distribution of funds

  • Creditors of the 7th stage (legal entities not related to banks): received over UAH 582 million.
  • Creditors of the 4th stage (individuals and individual entrepreneurs whose deposits exceeded the guaranteed amount): over UAH 81.5 million was paid out.
  • Creditors of the 9th priority (bank-related individuals, individual entrepreneurs and legal entities): UAH 191.6 million in claims were satisfied.
  • National Bank of Ukraine (fifth stage): received UAH 20.5 million.
  • More than UAH 1.1 billion was allocated to cover the DGF’s expenses related to the payment of guaranteed compensation to depositors (third stage).

Year-end results and historical data

As of 1 December 2024, for the entire period of the Fund’s operation:

  • Banks in liquidation satisfied creditors’ claims totalling UAH 70.8 billion.
  • Of this amount, almost UAH 18 billion was used to repay the claims of secured creditors.

The DGF protects depositors in the event of bank liquidation by guaranteeing deposit repayments and distributing bank assets to creditors in order of priority.

These payments demonstrate the stable operation of the DGF even in difficult economic conditions, which helps to increase confidence in the Ukrainian banking system.
