On the night of 4 January, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine using 81 drones. This was reported by the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Enemy drones were launched from four directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

As of 09:00, Ukraine’s air defence forces had shot down 34 attack drones and other types of drones. Air defence systems were operating in a number of regions, including Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Odesa and Mykolaiv.

Unfortunately, even the downed drones caused damage in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, where several private homes were destroyed.

Also, thanks to the active work of the Defence Forces, 47 enemy imitator drones were neutralised.
