Russia claims to have shot down 32 drones over its territory

Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported on its Telegram channel that 32 drones were allegedly downed in different regions of the country, as well as over the Sea of Azov. According to the ministry, the attack took place at night and covered seven regions.

  • Saratov region: most drones were destroyed – 11 units.
  • Kursk and Rostov regions: 4 drones each.
  • Belgorod and Bryansk regions: 3 drones each.
  • Krasnodar Territory: 2 drones.
  • Volgograd region: 1 drone.
  • Sea of Azov: 4 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed over the water area.

The Russian Ministry of Defence claims that all targets were detected and destroyed by air defence systems.

Russian media regularly report drone attacks on Russian territory, but these claims are often impossible to confirm with independent sources. The Saratov region has already been in the spotlight after the incidents at the Engels airbase, which caused a significant outcry.

It remains unclear whether these attacks were part of a larger operation, as well as their goals and consequences. Ukraine, which is waging a defensive war against Russian aggression, usually does not comment on such events, but points to an increase in the number of incidents on Russian territory that indicate the vulnerability of its infrastructure.
