On the morning of 15 January, a large-scale air alert was declared throughout Ukraine due to a massive missile attack by Russian aggressors. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy launched X-101 missiles from TU-95MS bombers, as well as used Kinzhal ballistic missiles and Kalibr cruise missiles.
“The overwhelming majority of enemy missiles were moving to the west of Ukraine,” the Air Force said.
Massive attack across Ukraine
Air raid sirens sounded in all regions, and the threat of a missile strike spread across the country. Kalibr missiles were fired across the Kherson region from the Black Sea, adding to the tension.
Western Ukraine is the main target of the attack
Military experts suggest that Russia is trying to strike at critical infrastructure, particularly in the western regions. Air defence forces are working at full capacity to protect the population and reduce damage.
The extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack are being clarified, and the situation is being assessed on the ground.
