Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Russian army had failed to achieve strategic goals in any part of the frontline in Ukraine. He posted this on Telegram on 16 January after a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Charles Brown.
“The situation on the frontline is characterised by heavy fighting in most areas. Thanks to the courage and bravery of the Ukrainian military, the enemy’s superior forces failed to achieve their strategic objective in any of the frontline areas,” noted Syrskyi.
During his conversation with the US general, Syrsky thanked him for the support provided, especially in terms of air defence equipment, heavy machinery, artillery and aviation ammunition.
“The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces assured that the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers will continue to be actively supported by the United States,” the Chief of the Armed Forces added.
The Ukrainian military continues to hold the line and repel enemy attacks, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and morale.
