On 19 January, 189 combat engagements with Russian troops were registered in the Ukrainian frontline. The most intense attacks took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where the Ukrainian Defence Forces stopped 89 enemy assaults. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Defeating the enemy
The aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces inflicted significant strikes on five areas of concentration of occupants’ manpower, weapons and equipment, and destroyed two Russian air defence systems.
Large-scale shelling
Russia carried out one missile strike and 40 air strikes, dropping 59 adjusted aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy fired more than 5,000 artillery rounds, including 114 from multiple launch rocket systems. The attacks involved 2,832 kamikaze drones.
Key areas of combat operations
- Kharkiv sector: three times they stormed the Ukrainian Armed Forces defences near Vovchansk.
- In theKupiansk sector, 13 enemy attacks were registered and successfully repelled near Nova Kruhliakivka, Lozova and other localities.
- Liman direction: 17 attempts to break through, in particular in the areas of Serebryansky forest and Novosadove.
- Kramatorsk sector: 7 attacks near Chasovyi Yar and Bila Hora.
- Toretsk sector: 19 attacks were recorded near Toretsk.
- Pokrovsk sector: the enemy was most active – 89 attacks in 22 localities.
- Other areas: Localised fighting and enemy attempts to break through the defences continue in the Novopavlivka, Orikhove, Prydniprovsky and Huliaipil sectors.
Situation on other fronts
No enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya sectors.
