On 20 January 2025, the World Economic Forum (WEF) began in Davos, Switzerland, and will run until 24 January. The theme of this year’s event is “Collaborating for an Intelligent Age,” Euronews reports.
Key issues of the forum
World leaders and business elite will discuss the most pressing challenges of our time, including:
- geo-economic uncertainty;
- development and regulation of artificial intelligence;
- rethinking economic growth;
- strategies for protecting the planet.
The scale of the event
The Forum brought together about 3,000 guests from over 130 countries, including 60 heads of state and government. The event was also attended by more than 1 ,600 business leaders, including more than 900 CEOs of the world’s leading companies.
Notable participants
The following companies joined the forum:
- Donald Trump, President-elect of the United States, who will join via video link;
- Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission;
- political leaders from all key regions – Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.
