Zelenskyy and Stubb in Davos: strengthening defence capabilities, sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. This was reported by the press service of the President.

The key topics of discussion included strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities, security guarantees and strengthening sanctions against Russia. The two leaders also agreed on dates for further meetings to plan cooperation.

NATO as a security guarantee

According to representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the invitation to NATO is a key element of security guarantees for the country. In turn, Alexander Stubb expressed his unwavering support:
“We will continue to support Ukraine. There is no question about that. This is all about your independence, your sovereignty and your territorial integrity. We admire what you are doing,” the Finnish president stressed.

Assistance and defence industrial cooperation

Zelenskyy and Stubb discussed the preparation of the 27th aid package for Ukraine and current military needs. Particular attention was paid to investments in the production of drones based on the Danish model, as well as the prospects for the development of defence-industrial cooperation.

The meeting was an important step in strengthening international support for Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
