The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has officially approved the Poseidon unmanned aerial vehicle system developed by Ukrainian engineers for use in the Defence Forces. This was reported by the Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Weapons and Military Equipment.

Features of the complex

According to Deputy Defence Minister Dmytro Klimenkov, Poseidon is designed to perform a number of special tasks. The complex is equipped with:

  • Electric motors for low noise and efficiency;
  • A modern navigation system that allows you to work with high accuracy even in difficult conditions.

Technical capabilities:

  • Operation at temperatures from -20 °C to +45 °C;
  • Resistant to strong winds;
  • The batteries provide several hours of continuous operation.

The operating altitude of the complex’s vehicles is beyond the reach of most enemy air defence systems, which makes them particularly effective in combat conditions.

Importance for defence capability

The adoption of the Poseidon system is an important step towards improving the technological level of the Ukrainian army. Modern drones of this type can carry out reconnaissance and other important missions, increasing the overall effectiveness of the Defence Forces.
