On the night of 27 January, the Russian army launched another attack on Ukraine, concentrating on the Carpathian region. Strike drones were used to attack critical infrastructure in Ivano-Frankivsk region. This was reported by the head of the regional state administration, Svitlana Onyshchuk, and the mayor of the city, Ruslan Martsinkiv.
Svitlana Onyshchuk noted that a series of explosions took place in the region. The Russians targeted critical infrastructure facilities.
“A fire broke out at one of the impact sites, where rescuers are currently working,” she said.
Fortunately, as of 08:00, there were no reports of any injuries. The head of the region stressed the importance of complying with air raid warnings to save lives and health.
Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv clarified that Russian drones were flying both in the region and in Ivano-Frankivsk.
“Thanks to the coordinated work of the air defence forces, there was no damage to civilian property,” the mayor said.
The consequences of the attack are currently being eliminated and the damage caused by the enemy is being assessed.
