On the 480th day of Israel’s “Iron Swords” war against terrorist groups in Gaza, Judea, Samaria, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, operations continue in many regions. Despite the ceasefire in Gaza declared on 19 January, the situation remains tense. This is reported by Time Ukraine Israel portal, citing Newsru.co.il.

Timeline of events on 28 January 2025

Night – Morning

  • 00:00
    Clashes between the Israeli military and militants continue in the city of Tul Karem. According to Palestinian sources, the IDF has deployed additional units to the region. In the western part of the city, there was a power outage, and local residents were evacuated to two mosques provided by the Tul Karem Foundation.
  • 01:00
    IDF forces continue operations in Jenin, where another building was blown up. In the village of Biddu, the house of Ra’id Badwan, released from an Israeli prison as part of a previous deal, is searched.
  • 03:00 – 05:00
    Armed clashes erupt in Shema, Tulkarem and Ramallah. IDF engineering units begin dismantling “symbols of resistance” in Tul Karem, causing tensions to rise.

Morning – Day

  • 08:00
    Eight suspected terrorists were detained in Shema and Ramallah. In Qalandia, between Jerusalem and Ramallah, Border Police detained another suspect.
  • 09:00
    In southern Gaza, IDF forces opened fire on a target near Khan Younis. Meanwhile, civilians continue to move to the northern part of the Strip.
  • Lebanon.
    In southern Lebanon, the Israeli military released six local residents detained during protests in Khoula and Markaba on 26 January. At the same time, in Aytaroun, local residents complain about traffic restrictions caused by the IDF. The protests in the region were organised by Hizbullah, which openly states its role in these events.

Despite the ceasefire in Gaza, military operations in Judea, Samaria and Lebanon indicate high tensions in the region. IDF operations are aimed at neutralising the terrorist threat, but the conflict remains far from resolved.
