Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Netanyahu

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the Ukrainian leader’s press service, a number of bilateral issues were discussed during the conversation, as well as future contacts with international partners, including US President Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy welcomed the beginning of the release of Israeli hostages from Hamas captivity and stressed the importance of returning the remaining citizens home. “It is necessary to ensure a reliable and lasting peace so that people can live in safety,” the President of Ukraine stressed.

Holocaust remembrance
During the conversation, Zelenskyy shared his impressions of participating in the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. He expressed his condolences to Netanyahu and the Israeli people over the tragedy of the Holocaust, stressing the importance of preserving the memory of these horrific pages of history.

Future contacts with Trump
Special attention was paid to future contacts with US President Donald Trump, which, as the leaders stressed, will be important for strengthening international cooperation.

The phone conversation between Zelenskyy and Netanyahu was another step towards strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and Israel, as well as coordinating actions in the international arena.
