The Ukrainian military struck at the LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in the Russian city of Volgograd. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, 31 January.
“On the night of 31 January 2025, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces, struck at LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka LLC,” the official statement said.
This refinery is one of the ten largest in Russia and is directly involved in providing fuel to the occupation army. Powerful explosions and fires were recorded on the territory of the facility.
“Combat work on strategic infrastructure that affects the ability of the Russian army to continue combat operations will continue,” the General Staff stressed.
The results of the fire damage are still being determined, but this strike is another step in undermining Russia’s military and economic potential.
