Latvia has completed fundraising for the purchase of 100 drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The project was implemented through the charity platform Ziedot.lv, and the drones will be handed over on Monday, 3 February, at the Ukrainian Embassy in Riga. This was reported by Delfi.
The event will be attended by:
- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Baiba Braže
- Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Anatoliy Kutsevol
- Head of the Ziedot.lv Foundation Ruta Dimanta
During the ceremony, one of the drones will be flown into the air.
About the initiative
The purchase of drones is part of a public initiative to raise financial contributions to support Ukraine. Ziedot.lv is a Latvian charity platform that has been actively helping Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Latvia remains one of Ukraine’s key partners in defence support, and such initiatives demonstrate the strong solidarity of Latvian society with Ukrainians.
