Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that European leaders are trying to adapt to Donald Trump’s victory after actively opposing him during the US election. According to Putin, Trump will restore order among European elites, and they “will soon stand at the feet of the master and easily wag their tail.”
“Trump, with his character and perseverance, will restore order quite quickly. And all this, you will see, will happen very quickly. Soon, everyone will be standing at the feet of the master and will easily wag their tail,” Putin said in an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, TASS reported.
Putin also noted that European leaders had repeatedly opposed the US president and even interfered in US political life and the electoral process, as they favoured former President Joe Biden.
“And Trump has different views on what is good and what is bad, including on gender policy and a number of other issues. It’s not exactly to his liking,” he stressed.
