Israel presents a national plan to integrate AI into education with the support of tech giants

The Israeli Ministry of Education has launched a large-scale programme to introduce artificial intelligence into the educational process. The project, which covers 2025, envisages teacher training, development of new curricula, and implementation of specialised AI tools in classrooms, The Jerusalem Post reports.

The programme is designed for students in grades 4-12 and covers all sectors of Israeli society. As part of the initiative, the ministry has engaged more than 400 technology companies, including Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Nvidia, to help train 3,000 mentors. They will advise schools on the implementation of AI and the adaptation of technologies to educational needs.

Among the new tools to be introduced into the educational process:

  • Q is a bot trainer for the responsible use of AI in education.
  • A chat assistant based on Google Gemini, adapted to the requirements of the Ministry of Education.
  • Magic School is a platform for lesson planning and student assessment.
  • A customised Minecraft interface for younger students.

In February, the Ministry of Education will hold a series of webinars and interactive events, culminating in a central meeting on 27 February. More than 70,000 teachers are expected to take part in the training events.
