On the night of 5 February, Russian troops launched a massive air attack on Ukrainian territory, using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 104 Shahed attack drones and imitators. The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of the morning, 57 enemy drones had been confirmed to have been destroyed in different regions of the country.
In particular, air defence forces shot down enemy drones over Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Kirovohrad regions. Another 42 imitator drones were lost in the area, but did not cause any damage or casualties.
Despite the successful work of Ukrainian air defences, the attack caused damage in Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. Measures are currently underway to eliminate the consequences of the attack and restore the damaged facilities.
