NSDC reveals the content of new sanctions packages

Ukraine is introducing new sanctions against individuals and companies involved in the export of Russian oil products, the creation of anti-Ukrainian films and the export of cultural property from the occupied territories. This was announced by Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Lytvynenko on 5 February.

“The Security Service, together with the intelligence agencies, the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Main Directorate, proposes to impose sanctions on 83 individuals for facilitating the export of Russian oil products from the ports of the aggressor state. In fact, we are talking about a shadow fleet,” Lytvynenko said at the NSDC meeting.

The second package of sanctions proposed by the Ministry of Culture includes restrictions on 41 individuals and 47 legal entities involved in the production and distribution of anti-Ukrainian films and propaganda products.

The third package targets individuals who facilitated the illegal export of Ukrainian cultural property from the occupied territories, including museums in Kherson and other cities.

These sanctions are aimed at increasing pressure on individuals and organisations acting in the interests of the aggressor country and protecting Ukraine’s national interests.
