Washington has commented on the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding the possibility of returning Ukraine’s nuclear status. US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg said in an interview with Fox News that the likelihood of such a scenario is minimal.

According to him, this topic is extremely sensitive in international politics, and the United States is not considering providing Ukraine with nuclear weapons.

Kellogg also confirmed his participation in this year’s Munich Security Conference (MSC), where he will discuss with European leaders the prospects for ending the war in Ukraine. In a commentary to Newsmax, he noted that he would report on the outcome of the meetings to Donald Trump, who has his own vision of resolving the conflict.

At the same time, Kellogg clarified that he would not disclose the details of a possible peace plan, as this is the exclusive prerogative of the US president.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the issue of Ukraine’s nuclear weapons could return to the agenda if international security guarantees do not work. His words caused a wide reaction among world leaders and security experts.
