Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga had a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The diplomats discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, regional and global challenges, as well as the Food from Ukraine initiative aimed at supporting Syria.

Sibiga announced this on Twitter, stressing the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

“I discussed bilateral relations, further contacts and opportunities for cooperation with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. We exchanged views on regional and global development,” the Ukrainian minister said.

Joint initiatives and assistance to Syria

Sibiga also told his colleague about the Food from Ukraine programme, which aims to provide humanitarian support to countries affected by crises, including Syria.

The programme, initiated by Ukraine, provides for the supply of food to regions in need of assistance and is part of Kyiv’s broader strategy to strengthen cooperation with international partners in the area of food security.

Saudi Arabia remains one of Ukraine’s important partners in the diplomatic, economic and humanitarian spheres. The talks between the Foreign Ministers underline the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations and working together to address global challenges.
