On the night of 11 February, the Saratov oil refinery, which plays an important role in supplying the Russian army, was damaged in Russia. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, the strike on the enterprise was carried out by the Unmanned Systems Forces, the GUR and the Special Forces in coordination with other units of the Defence Forces. The refinery specialises in the production of petrol, fuel oil, diesel fuel and produces more than 20 types of petroleum products used by the Russian occupation forces.
“A hit has been confirmed. A fire broke out at the facility. The results of the damage are being clarified. Strikes on strategic targets involved in supporting Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine will continue,” the General Staff said.
