Following a massive Russian attack on energy facilities in Ukraine, emergency power cuts have been cancelled. This was reported by Ukrenergo on Tuesday, 11 February.

“Due to the night and morning missile attacks on the energy infrastructure, we had to introduce emergency blackouts in the morning. The situation has now been stabilised and all blackouts have been cancelled. Consumers who were left without power will be supplied with electricity in the near future,” the statement said.

At the same time, electricity consumption in Ukraine is growing – in the morning it was 4% higher than at the same time on Monday. Power engineers attribute this to the frosty weather and the traditional increase in consumption at the beginning of the working week.

For industry and business, power curtailment schedules are in place from 07:00 to 11:00 and from 15:00 to 21:00. Household consumers are not currently subject to blackouts, but the power company urges citizens to use electricity sparingly throughout the day to reduce the load on the system.
