Thanks to the United24 fundraising platform, Ukraine has received more than $1 billion in charitable contributions. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Facebook page on 11 February, thanking the millions of people who support Ukrainians in the most difficult times.
“Numerous contributions help Ukraine meet the most urgent needs at the front and beyond. Thousands of lives have been and will be saved thanks to these funds. Each contribution, regardless of the size, is equally important,” Zelenskyy stressed.
The funds raised have already been used to buy drones for the defenders, build shelters for children, provide medical staff with the necessary equipment, help sappers, and finance the reconstruction of critical infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and residential buildings.
The President thanked everyone who supports Ukraine: “Thank you for not standing aside and choosing to be with us, to be together with Ukraine.”
