According to The World Street Journal, Israel is developing plans for serious strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. These measures were discussed against the backdrop of US intelligence reports in the early days of the Trump administration, which showed that Israel could use its strategic advantage to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
US officials indicate that President Donald Trump is more likely to support such strikes than the Biden administration. According to the report, Israel may need military support and weapons from the United States to implement these plans.
Trump, who is concerned about the rapid pace of Iran’s nuclear programme, in particular Tehran’s rapprochement with Moscow, said that time for action is limited. According to the IAEA, Iran already has 200 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, which, with additional enrichment, could be the basis for up to five nuclear warheads.
In addition, the US President emphasised the seriousness of his position, stating that he may cancel the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas if all hostages are not released by Saturday afternoon. Trump believes that such actions should maximise pressure on Iran and ensure the security of the region.
