Massive drone attack: Ukrainian air defence shoots down 103 enemy drones

Russia attacks Ukraine with 176 Shahed drones – most destroyed

On the night of 18 February 2025, Russian troops launched a massive attack with 176 Shahed attack drones and imitation drones launched from the territory of the Russian Federation and occupied Crimea. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force.

As of 09:00, 103 attack drones were confirmed downed in 12 regions of Ukraine:

📍 Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kherson, Mykolaiv.

Another 67 enemy imitator drones were locally lost, meaning they did not reach their targets and did not cause damage.

How did you repel the attack?

Air Force Aviation

Air defence systems

Electronic warfare (EW) units

Mobile fire teams

Which regions were affected?

Despite effective air defence, some regions were hit. Damage was recorded in:

📍 Kharkiv region

📍 Kyiv region

📍 C herkasy region

Where was the attack coming from?

Russia has launched drones from six different directions in particular:

📍 Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF)

📍 Occupied Crimea

This is one of the most massive drone attacks that Ukraine has experienced in recent times.
