Azov Sea – According to the press service of the People’s Intelligence Agency (PIA), the Pavel Grabovsky dry cargo ship, which was used to transport stolen Ukrainian grain, was destroyed in the Azov Sea. Information about the successful operation was posted on the agency’s official Telegram channel.

Details of the incident

According to PIA, the Pavel Grabovsky vessel was involved in the illegal transport of Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories. The operation to destroy it was part of a large-scale campaign aimed at stopping the illegal export of Ukrainian resources from the occupied ports.

The report notes that the vessel was carrying a cargo of grain that had been illegally exported from the occupied territories of Ukraine through the ports of the Azov Sea.

“The Pavel Grabovsky vessel was used to transport stolen Ukrainian grain. Its destruction is an important step in the fight against economic looting by the aggressor,” the PIA said in a statement.

Reaction of the Ukrainian authorities

So far, official sources in Ukraine have not confirmed the information about the destruction of the vessel, but the Ministry of Defence has repeatedly stated its intention to take decisive action against ships transporting stolen Ukrainian resources.

The scale of illegal grain exports

According to Ukrainian and international think tanks, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been exporting Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories, in particular from Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Donetsk regions. The grain is transported through occupied ports in the Sea of Azov, from where it is exported to third countries.

The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly alleged violations of international law and called on the international community to impose additional sanctions against companies and vessels involved in the illegal export of grain.

What’s next?

The People’s Intelligence Agency (PIA) has declared its readiness to continue operations aimed at stopping the illegal transportation of Ukrainian resources by sea. In its statement, the agency stressed that “no ship involved in the robbery of Ukraine will go unpunished”.
