Night attack on Kyiv region: Russian drone fragments hit unfinished building in Brovary district

Kyiv region, 24 February 2025 – The night of 23-24 February brought more anxiety to the residents of Kyiv region. Russian drones attacked the capital and the region, causing further destruction. In Brovary district, the wreckage of an enemy UAV fell on an unfinished multi-storey building, causing a fire.

The incident was reported by the SES press service. As a result of the falling debris, the 23rd floor of the unfinished building caught fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing a larger fire.

A 51-year-old security guard of a residential complex was injured at the scene. The man suffered an acute stress reaction. Doctors provided him with the necessary assistance – fortunately, he did not suffer any serious physical injuries.

“The fire was quickly contained,” the rescuers report, “Thanks to our prompt actions, the fire did not spread to other floors of the building.”

Kyiv is under constant threat

This is not the first case in recent days. On the evening of 23 February, the wreckage of a downed drone fell in the capital, causing a wave of discussion on social media. The photo of Kyiv residents carrying the drone’s wreckage home was particularly noteworthy, causing both a wave of humour and outrage online.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again reminds the residents of Kyiv region of the importance of following the safety rules during air raid alerts:

Do not ignore the alarms.Find the nearest shelter.

Do not approach the area where debris has fallen.Even after the explosion, the residue can be dangerous.

Call the rescuersif you see smoke or fire after the shelling.

Be careful when taking photos and videos.Remember that the distribution of images may help the enemy to adjust their attacks.
