Buchansky district, Kyiv region – On the night of 26 February, Russian drones attacked civilian settlements in Kyiv region. One person was killed and two others were wounded in the attack. Large-scale destruction was recorded in the residential sector.
This was announced by the acting head of the Kyiv Regional Military District Administration Mykola Kalashnyk.
Deadly blow to a residential building
The Bucha district suffered the most. A Russian drone hit a two-storey private house, causing a large-scale fire. While extinguishing the fire, which covered 200 square metres, rescuers found the body of a victim.
In another settlement of the same area, two civilians came under hostile fire. A 19-year-old girl was hospitalised with a wound to the back of her head, and a 43-year-old man who sustained a wound to his hand received medical treatment on the spot.
Destroyed houses and cars
According to preliminary information, the blast wave and debris from the attack caused significant damage:
– 5 private houses were destroyed;
– Windows in four high-rise buildings were smashed;
– 2 garages were destroyed;
– three cars were completely destroyed and eight others damaged.

This is not the first attack by Russian troops on the Kyiv region in recent days. At night, an enemy drone hit a residential building in the same area, injuring a man.
Russia continues to destroy civilian infrastructure
In parallel with the attack on Kyiv region, Russian drones struck Kharkiv – three hits were recorded in different parts of the city.
Given the increasing intensity of the strikes, the Ukrainian military is urging citizens not to ignore the air raids and to take shelter in safe places.
Russia’s tactics of terrorising civilians continue, but Ukrainians are not giving up. Each attack by the occupiers is another proof that Ukraine needs more support from international partners and modern air defence systems to protect peaceful towns and villages.
