On the afternoon of 4 March, the Israeli Defence Forces attacked a car in southern Lebanon, about 10 kilometres from the border with Israel. According to the IDF’s Galei, the attack killed one of the main commanders of the elite Radwan unit, part of Hezbollah.
According to Lebanese sources, the strike was carried out by an IDF drone, which fired a missile at a car near the village of Rashkanay, near the city of Qana, southeast of Tyre.
The Lebanese side confirmed the death of one of Hezbollah’s field commanders. His name and details of the operation are currently being clarified.
This is not the first precision strike by the IDF in Lebanon in recent weeks, aimed at weakening the command of Hezbollah’s combat units involved in hostilities against Israel along the northern border.
There has been no official comment from the Israeli Defence Forces on the details of the liquidation. The situation on the border remains tense, and the threat of a new escalation continues to grow.
