The Taras Shevchenko Foundation has announced the launch of an all-Ukrainian online flash mob “We are the descendants of Kobzar” and called on representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Defence Forces to join the creative initiative dedicated to Taras Shevchenko’s birthday.
The annual flash mob has traditionally been held in March since 2021 and brings together Ukrainians from all over the country. Participants send videos of Kobzar’s poetry, perform songs, theatre performances, or showcase artworks inspired by Taras Shevchenko’s work.
The organisers emphasise that anyone can join the flash mob, regardless of age, place of residence or profession. Especially welcomed are works from Ukrainian defenders who continue to preserve the cultural heritage and the power of the Great Kobzar’s words in the midst of war.

At the end of the flash mob, all participants will receive commemorative diplomas signed by the President of the Taras Shevchenko Foundation and the project manager.
This initiative has already become a good tradition, not only honouring the figure of Taras Shevchenko, but also demonstrating the resilience of Ukrainian culture even in times of war.
