Today, 14 March, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, arrived in Kyiv on an official visit. This was announced by Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Vasyl Khymynets, who greeted the head of Austrian diplomacy with words of welcome: “Welcome to Kyiv, dear Federal Minister”.
This visit comes amidst Austria’s increased support for Ukraine. The Austrian government recently announced an additional €8 million in humanitarian aid for Ukrainians. In addition, the Austrian Ministry of Climate Protection has confirmed its decision to allocate EUR 5 million to restore infrastructure damaged by Russian aggression.
Beate Meinl-Reisinger, who has just recently taken over as head of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, demonstrates Vienna’s commitment to continuing to help Ukraine. Her visit is an important signal that even neutral European countries do not stand aside in the fight for peace and justice.
During her visit to Kyiv, she is expected to meet with Ukrainian officials and discuss further ways of cooperation between the two countries.
