President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to another attack by the Russian occupiers on the night of 23 March 2025 by posting an emotional Facebook post. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and stressed the need to increase international pressure on Russia to stop the terror.
Victims and scale of the attack
According to the President, last night Russian troops struck Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, claiming civilian lives. In the capital, a five-year-old girl was among the victims, and her death became a tragic symbol of the war. In Zaporizhzhia, an entire family was killed – parents and their 17-year-old daughter. Zelensky stressed that this is only part of the terrible consequences of Russian aggression.
He also cited staggering statistics: over the past week, Russia has used more than 1,580 guided aerial bombs, nearly 1,100 attack drones and 15 missiles against Ukraine. “These weapons bring death, and we must stop their source,” the President stressed.
Foreign components and sanctions
Zelenskyy drew special attention to the fact that at least 102,000 foreign components were found in Russian weapons that destroy Ukrainian cities. “This means that sanctions against Russian terrorists must work more effectively. Every scheme that allows them to circumvent the sanctions regime must be eliminated,” he wrote. The President called on the international community to find new solutions and increase pressure on Moscow to stop the strikes and the war in general.
The voice of the people and the world
Zelensky’s post was not only an official statement, but also an appeal to Ukrainians and international partners. He stressed that every death is not just a statistic, but a tragedy that requires action. “New steps are needed to make Russia feel the consequences. We need to make sure that our children live and not die from bombs,” he concluded.
The president’s reaction comes amid growing tensions in Ukraine, where Russian shelling continues to claim civilian lives. Zelenskyy’s words have already sparked a response on social media, with Ukrainians expressing support and demanding greater solidarity from the world. It remains to be seen whether this call will be heard in the capitals of key countries.
