On the night of 26 March, Russia launched a large-scale attack on the territory of Ukraine, firing 117 Shahed attack drones and imitation drones from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda (occupied Crimea).

As of 09:00, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the downing of 56 Shahed and other attack UAVs in the south, north, east and centre of the country. 48 enemy imitator drones were lost locally – without causing any damage or negative consequences.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces.

The attack affected Sumy, Dnipro, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions.

In Sumy region, the enemy struck at Okhtyrka: damage to municipal infrastructure was recorded.

The attack in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovs’k region, resulted in fires, damaging an administrative building, warehouses, a business and six cars.

The Ukrainian defence forces continue to work hard to detect and destroy enemy UAVs, which Russia is increasingly using to attack deep in the rear and critical infrastructure.
