On the night of 26 March, a representative of the Iranian-backed Ansar Allah (Houthis) group, Yahya Saria, announced an allegedly large-scale attack on US warships in the Red Sea and a strike on military facilities in the centre of Israel. This was reported by the Russian news agency RIA.

According to him, the targets of the attack were US warships led by the USS Harry Truman. Saria said the operation involved missile forces, drones and Houthi naval forces, and that it lasted several hours.

“Unmanned aerial vehicle forces attacked Israeli military targets in the area of occupied Jaffa. The objective of the operation was successfully achieved,” Saria said, without providing any evidence.

However, there were no airborne alarms in Israel on the night of 26 March. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) did not report any attempted attacks from Yemen or interceptions of drones.

Also, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has not confirmed any attacks on its warships in the region.

It is worth noting that the Houthis regularly claim “successful strikes” on US aircraft carriers and Israeli territory, including Jaffa (near Tel Aviv), but none of these strikes have caused confirmed damage to either the US or Israeli side.

Statements of this nature are part of the information war waged by the Houthis against the backdrop of confrontation in the region and attempts to increase pressure on the United States and Israel over events in the Middle East.
