Kyiv, 6 April – A prominent Ukrainian theatre and film actress, Taisiya Lytvynenko, has died at the age of 91. This was reported on Facebook by her son Nazar Stryhun:
“Our sun rose on Sunday and left us on Sunday,” he wrote, sharing his personal loss with many generations of Ukrainians for whom Lytvynenko was a symbol of stage, screen and great talent.
Taisiia Lytvynenko is a People’s Artist of Ukraine, an actress whose voice and face were known to millions. Her career is associated with the Maria Zankovetska Theatre in Lviv, where she played dozens of iconic roles. She also acted in films, leaving a lasting mark on Ukrainian culture.
Her colleagues remember her as an actress with a big heart, sophisticated stage language and a deep inner light.
Ukraine is saying goodbye to a great master of the stage. RIP.
