US President Donald Trump has said he is unhappy with Russia’s intense strikes on Ukraine, which come at a time when Washington is trying to help end the fighting. He said this on 7 April during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office, CNN reports.

“I am not satisfied with what is happening with the bombing, because now they are just bombing like crazy. I don’t know what’s going on there. It’s a bad situation,” Trump said.

According to him, the United States is in talks with both sides of the conflict – Russia and Ukraine. The President hinted that diplomatic efforts were progressing, but did not specify whether a ceasefire was possible in the near future:

“We seem to be close,” he said.

Trump is irritated with Putin

The US president also mentioned his recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he proposed an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. According to Trump, Putin’s response was “very irritating”.

About the economy – without Russia

In response to journalists’ questions about the absence of tariffs on Russia in the new tariff plan, Trump said that the US “doesn’t actually do business with Russia” because it is at war.

This statement was one of Trump’s first public references to the real scale of hostilities in Ukraine since his return to the active political arena.
