In fact, Russia has already launched a new large-scale offensive on key frontline areas. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with the newspaper Livyi Bereh (Left Bank ).
According to him, in recent days, the number of enemy offensives has almost doubled, which indicates an active phase of implementation of the Kremlin’s strategic plans.
“I can say that the President is absolutely right, and this offensive has actually already begun. For several days now, almost a week, we have been observing an almost twofold increase in the number of enemy offensives on all major directions,” Syrsky stressed.
Commenting on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement about a possible breakthrough attempt in the Sumy and Kharkiv sectors, Syrskyy confirmed that active hostilities are already underway.
The Commander-in-Chief stressed that the enemy’s goal remains unchanged – the full occupation of Donbas, a breakthrough in the southern direction, as well as the creation of a buffer zone in the border areas in the north-east.
“The enemy continues a strategic offensive operation to seize our territory, defeat our troops, advance into the depths… seeks to completely capture Donetsk and Luhansk regions, parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as create a buffer zone in Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions,” he said.
Despite diplomatic statements about peace initiatives, the intensity of hostilities on the frontline is only increasing.
