The Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, met with rescued hostage Naama Levy and her brother Amit on Friday, 11 April 2025. Also present at the meeting was Mayer, the cousin of hostages Gali and Ziv Berman, who presented the general with a Passover Haggadah.
During the meeting, Eyal Zamir thanked the guests for their strength of spirit and stressed the importance of returning all the hostages home. “Passover will not be complete without our hostages. We are doing everything possible to bring them all back,” the Chief of the General Staff said.
The meeting took place on the eve of the Passover holiday, which symbolises freedom and liberation. This symbolism takes on particular significance in the context of the ongoing struggle to free Israeli citizens who remain in captivity. The IDF continues operations and negotiations aimed at the return of hostages, emphasising that this remains one of the army’s top priorities.
